Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains what information mint (the mobile app and the website at 1mint.org, together "the Service") collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
mint is an inventory, point-of-sale and expense tool for businesses with one or more branches. Questions about this policy can be sent to rehaan.tariq@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your mobile phone number (used to sign in), your name, and a profile photo if you add one.
- Business information you enter: business and branch details (names, addresses, contact numbers, logo, cover image, website and social links), products, categories, stock levels and prices, packages and subscriptions, invoices, expenses, and the staff you add together with their roles.
- Your customers' information: names, phone numbers, email addresses and addresses that you save as customers or print on invoices. See section 5.
- Support messages: the messages and photos you send to our support team.
- Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, a push-notification token, and in-app activity (which screens and actions are used) so we can fix problems and improve the app. Our servers also record technical logs such as IP address and request times.
- Location: we do not track your location. A branch only has an address or map coordinates if you type them in.
mint records how a customer paid (for example cash or card) but does not process card payments and does not collect card numbers.
3. How we use information
- to create your account and verify your phone number, including sending login codes by WhatsApp or SMS;
- to run the Service: store your business records, calculate totals, keep stock and invoices in sync between your devices and your team;
- to send notifications you or your business need (for example a new sale, low stock, an invoice issued to you, a reply from support);
- to answer your support requests, keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems;
- to improve the Service and understand how features are used; and
- to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share information with
- Your business team: people you add to a business or branch can see the information their role allows (for example, an Owner sees everything, a Salesperson sees what is needed to sell).
- Public pages you create: when your business is live, its public web page shows the details, products, packages and contact information you choose to publish; stock quantities are shown only if you allow it.
- Invoice links: every invoice has a web link. Anyone who has the link can open the invoice, which shows the customer's name and phone number, the items and the totals. Share invoice links only with the people they are meant for.
- Service providers that help us operate the Service, only for that purpose: Google (Firebase) for phone verification and push notifications; Meta (WhatsApp Business) for delivering login codes; our cloud hosting provider, whose servers are located in Singapore; and our email delivery provider; and RevenueCat, which helps us manage subscription purchases made through the App Store and Google Play (it receives your business identifier and purchase records, not your payment card details, which stay with Apple or Google).
- Authorities and advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the public; and a successor if the Service is sold or merged.
5. Your customers' information
If you store information about your own customers in mint, you decide what is collected and why, and you are responsible for having the right to hold it and for telling your customers. We process it on your behalf to provide the Service.
If a business saves your phone number as a customer and you also have a mint account with that number, the business's customer record can be linked to your account. You will then see invoices that business issued to you inside the app and may receive notifications about them. You can mute those notifications in the app, and the business can remove the link.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account or a business (see Account deletion), we remove the related data within 30 days. Short-lived backups are overwritten on a regular cycle (up to 90 days). We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it, such as for tax, fraud prevention or resolving disputes.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict some processing, and to receive a copy of your data. You can edit most information directly in the app. For anything else, email rehaan.tariq@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You can turn off most push notifications in the app's notification settings, and delete your account at any time.
8. Security
We protect the Service with encrypted connections (HTTPS), role-based access so people only see what their role allows, and restricted access to our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please also protect your phone and your login codes.
9. Children
mint is a business tool intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our servers are in Singapore and our providers (such as Google and Meta) may process information in other countries. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
